I find myself and others sometimes forgetting our priorities. We spend much time learning fiqh and controversial issues. Alhamdulilah these are important issues to know and understand, however like all things there must be a system of priorities of knowledge. For example, we might spent weeks speaking and talking about the differences about praying with hands over the chest or below the navel, however if our salaah is not even valid due to lackings or an improper wuduu' certainly we have misunderstood the priorities of knowledge.
Allah says:
"Surely, the Religion is for Allah alone." [Surah Zumar: 3]Therefore, this Tawheed is like the foundation of a building. Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Whoever wants a lofty building, then let him strengthen, consolidate and put great concern in its foundation. For indeed a lofty building depends on the firmness and precision of its foundation."
"And they were commanded not, except that they should worship Allah, making the Religion purely for Him alone, and to establish the prayer and give Zakaah." [Surah Al-Bayyinah: 5]
"Say (O Muhammad): "Verily, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of the worlds. He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims." [Surah An’aam: 162-163]May Allah guide us all.
May He bless us with understanding of Islam.
May Allah give us the guidance to strive to and learn for His cause.
May Allah give us stability on Islam.
